On May 24, representatives of the Ukrainian Association of Ambulatory Physicians handed over another batch of humanitarian aid. This time it was received by Elena’s family, who were forced to leave their hometown of Lysychansk (Luhansk region) due to an attack by Russian troops.

Immigrant Olena told how she managed to get to the Dnieper and settle here.
I have been trying to leave Lysychansk together with my elderly parents since the beginning of April. The road was very difficult. My aunt, who lives in Starobilsk, could not be reached. Since there were no more places where our acquaintances could receive us, we went where our eyes looked. Thanks to the help of volunteers we managed to get to the Dnieper. Here the three of us settled in the gym of one of the schools. It so happened that my father died within a week of my stay here. Even before the war, he did not walk well and, probably due to severe stress, his body finally gave up. This is a very big loss for us.
Olena also added that they were later asked to leave the school, so she and her mother were forced to look for a new home.
During this time, many amazing things happened to me, I met a lot of good people. When we learned that we had to leave school, we actively began to look for a room, but, unfortunately, to no avail. One day, while I was applying at the bank, my mother was waiting for me next to the branch. She waited and cried. A complete stranger approached her, listened to her and offered to live in the apartment with him and his mother. Apparently, miracles do happen. I am grateful to all the people of Dnipro who helped and were kind to us. I am also very grateful to your Association for its help, it is very relevant.
Unfortunately, two houses and an apartment owned by Olena and her family in Lysychansk were destroyed by shelling. Somewhere in the city, her brother remained, with whom he lost contact in early May. We hope that he is safe and that Olena’s family will not suffer any more losses.
We hope for the best, we make every effort to accelerate our victory!
It will be recalled that members of the Association of Outpatient Medicine also recently donated humanitarian aid to the family of an immigrant doctor from Donetsk region.
