Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers signed a decree according to which the free sale of antibiotics in Ukraine will be prohibited from August 1, 2022.
From now on, such drugs will be available only by prescription. However, since the country is at war, there are certain temporary exceptions to this rule.

According to the agency, the exceptions apply only to occupied territories, places where active hostilities are taking place, or locations that are temporarily surrounded.
Pharmacies located in such territories will be able to continue to dispense prescription antibacterial drugs to patients without a doctor's prescription during the martial law. A rule is also provided that allows military administrations, units of the Armed Forces, volunteer and charitable organizations to purchase prescription drugs for wartime needs without a prescription from entities that have a license to conduct business activities in the production, wholesale trade of medicinal products.
In all other territories, during the transition period, which will be valid until the end of 2022, the sale of antibiotics is possible by electronic prescription (if the pharmacy is connected to the EHIC), by paper prescription and an information certificate, which will be equated to an official document. 3 On January 1, 2023, only electronic prescriptions will remain legal.
