Officials from the Ministry of Health reminded Ukrainians of the need for timely vaccination against such diseases as diphtheria and tetanus.

The Ministry of Health reminded that in order to fight these diseases, it is necessary to vaccinate in childhood and revaccinate in adulthood. More on the detailed vaccination plan.
Preventive vaccinations against tetanus and diphtheria are done by:
• children aged 2, 4, 6 and 18 months – a vaccine that should protect against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough. For this, vaccines with an acellular, i.e. cell-free, pertussis component or with a whole-cell pertussis component are used.
• children at the age of 6 who must be revaccinated with ADP vaccination (without a pertussis component);
• try to limit movement on the street in windy weather;
• children at 16 years, adults at 26 years and every 10 years after that need revaccination with reduced content of diphtheria and tetanus antigens.
Check if you have been vaccinated against diphtheria and tetanus within the last 10 years if you are already 26 years old. Catch up on missed vaccinations as soon as possible - it could save your life. If you were not vaccinated as a child or the vaccination data cannot be confirmed, for full protection you need to receive at least three doses of the vaccine against tetanus and diphtheria - first the first dose, a month later - the second, six months after the second - the third
