Stomach, intestine, spleen, left liver developed in the left half of the chest, which did not allow the left lung to grow. That is, the child has severe hypoplasia of the left lung. And the heart was in the right part of the chest.
During the operation, we were able to move the abdominal organs from the chest to where they should naturally be and separate them with a net. The heart began to gradually shift to its usual place.
The child is currently receiving treatment in the Department of Anesthesiology and Neonatal Intensive Care.
Doctors note that such pathology is quite rare. Because the baby did not have half the diaphragm – such a defect is the greatest risk to the child’s life.
