Ukrainian military surgeons conducted a unique operation that saved the lives of two Ukrainian soldiers.
During the operation, the Ukrainian soldier had a kidney removed, which was destroyed by a gunshot wound.
Doctors performed laparoscopic surgery – a modern type of surgery in which internal organs are operated through small holes in the body with the help of optical devices.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar shared the successes of military surgeons.
We have very good news from the medical forces of the Armed Forces. Our military surgeons performed an operation that has no analogues in the world. Last week, for the first time in Ukraine, a modern laparoscopic operation was performed in a military mobile hospital in one of the frontline cities of Ukraine - removal of a kidney in a gunshot wound with organ destruction.
Two such operations have already been performed at the mobile hospital and the lives of wounded soldiers have been saved. Thanks to ultra-modern technologies and the professionalism of our military surgeons, the wounded are already walking around the ward on their own.
Such operations for combat kidney injury have no analogues in the world. Ukraine's military surgeons are keeping up and implementing modern minimally invasive operations to rescue the seriously wounded.
At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Defense stressed that she is still waiting for a long stage of the struggle for freedom.
Ukraine will fight for complete victory and return to its borders. And Putin can save face by withdrawing from our territories. The aggressor is exerting intense fire along the entire line of contact and deep into our territories, the situation remains difficult and shows signs of further aggravation.The enemy used all forces and means to capture our territory and surround our troops. A difficult and long stage of struggle awaits us.
