"At night, the Russian army fired on the school with banned phosphate munitions. The school burned down. Fortunately, no one was injured: only those on duty were in the building, they managed to escape.
Prior to the large-scale Russian invasion, more than 200 children studied at Avdiivka School №1.
There were no soldiers or military equipment in the school. It's just that the Russians, as always, are deliberately destroying civilian infrastructure"
Military experts and investigators emphasize that Ukraine and Russia do not have phosphorous munitions.
Instead, they may be incendiary munitions, which are also prohibited – they cannot be used in or near cities.
The use of incendiary ammunition on military facilities is allowed only if they are remote from civilians.
Such munitions are used to create mass fires in areas with dry vegetation using flammable combustible materials.
