“During the month of living and working at Okhmatdyt, I went out of the hospital only twice. We live, work, eat and sleep here"
– says the doctor.
The youngest patient of the hospital is only a month old. The enemy projectile arrived while the mother was feeding the baby. The woman, who has already been named the Ukrainian Madonna, covered her daughter with herself.
Neighbors brought the mother and child to the Okhmatdyt hospital. At the moment, their lives are in danger.

However, unfortunately, we did not manage to help all the children.
In the first days of the war, a boy with a neck injury was operated on here. Unfortunately, he died 5 days later.
The doctor recalls with tears how Okhmatdyt once waited for three wounded children: two of them in the head and one in the chest.
Prepared operating rooms, gathered all the doctors. However, it was soon reported that one child had died. Later came the news of the death of the second.
And what happened to the third child is still unknown. The ambulance crew that took her said they could not get out of the war-torn city in Kyiv region. After this call, the connection with the team was lost.
Wounded children, who have already recovered a bit from the operations, spend time in the library of the institution, which is called a place for superheroes. Here you can play and read books.
Among them is 7-year-old Varya from Irpen. At first she lay down until the wounds healed, and then the doctors let her walk.
“Here the bullet passed through.
There was a shard left.
And there was a fragment in the heel, but they took it out.

Now Varya sadly remembers the destroyed Irpen bridge, through which she went with her mother to her uncle.
“I want it to be quiet, and then come and rebuild everything. I want Putin to stop this as soon as possible. Many children, mothers, villages and homes were affected by him."
– the girl says.
The hospital says they currently have no problems with medications or supplies. They are helped by volunteers from all over the world.
“Doctors continue to save lives because the diseases are not going away. Doctors are the same fighters, and they are on the battlefield with diseases
– they say in “Okhmatdyt"
