At her briefing, Iryna Vereshchuk, head of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, noted that 1,100 people had been evacuated along two humanitarian corridors for Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts on Sunday.

«We also managed to pull our people out of the shelter under the ruins of the bakery and from the shelter of the school #5 in Rubizhne.»

– added Iryna Vereshchuk

According to her, women, children, the elderly and people with disabilities were saved thanks to the heroism of the patrol police of Luhansk region.

«Despite the occupiers’ violation of the regime of silence, they pulled out and rescued all the people. Otherwise, 155 citizens of Ukraine would simply be doomed to a horrible death in an underground shelter»

– emphasized Iryna Vereshchuk

She also said that 586 people traveled from Mariupol to Zaporizhia in their vehicles in one day. 15 buses have reached the checkpoint at the entrance to Berdyansk and on Monday morning are to be sent to the meeting place for evacuation – Melitopolske Shosse Street, 27 – near the city sports complex.

On March 28, the authorities intend to continue work on the Mariupol direction and launch corridors to Sumy region. In addition, work will continue to open additional areas of humanitarian corridors.
