In Ukraine, there are many medical procedures that certain categories of citizens can undergo for free. Today, the Ministry of Health spoke about who has this right during diagnosis of the mucous membrane of the urethra, bladder and ureter exits (cystoscopy).
Cystoscopy should be performed regularly for people over the age of 50. The examination is free of charge for them in medical institutions that have a contract with the National Health Service in the direction of "Cystoscopy". If the patient is under 50 years of age, but has an indication for a cystoscopy, he can also undergo it free of charge in institutions that provide outpatient services under a contract with the National Health Service and have the appropriate equipment
It is noted that it is possible to undergo a cystoscopy free of charge on the referral of either a family doctor or a special doctor. The service is provided on an outpatient basis, but if there is a need for cystoscopy during inpatient treatment, it is not necessary to pay for it additionally.
The free package of such an examination includes a consultation with a specialized doctor and an anesthesiologist, local or general anesthesia, direct cystoscopy (with or without endoscopic manipulation), taking material for examination and recording the examination results on the patient’s digital media.
