Recently, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law No. 6306, which provides for the beginning of the infrastructural part of the medical reform. The authorities plan to create a health care system based on the European model.
The head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko notes that the outdated method of dividing hospitals into city, district and regional hospitals will soon be eliminated in the country.
Now the network of hospital districts will be built according to the cluster principle, which will meet the needs and challenges of today. The new approach involves the creation of several levels of hospitals: supracluster, cluster and general. Hospital planning provides each community with a clear guideline - where and what services people will receive. Each hospital will have its own role and clearly defined functionality. Simpler cases will be treated as close as possible to the patient - in general hospitals, more complex - in cluster and super-cluster medical institutions
In addition, this draft law also establishes the minimum level of remuneration for medical workers. Thanks to this, as noted by the Ministry of Health, the salary of medical workers is guaranteed to increase.
