The Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko spoke about the cases in which doctors who continue to work in the temporarily occupied territories will be considered collaborators.
Viktor Lyashko noted that the main reason why a person can be accused of treason is cooperation with the occupiers.
Cooperation to ensure the viability of a health care facility will not be considered collaborationism. When a person takes the initiative to be appointed leader, cooperates with the occupation authorities for political reasons, recognizes the legitimacy of the occupation, then it will be regarded as a betrayal of Ukraine
At the same time, receiving medicines and other things necessary for work from the occupying pseudo-government will not be considered collaborationism. According to Lyashko, this is “the direct work of doctors that saves the lives of Ukrainians."
As Minister of Health, I will argue that receiving wages from the occupiers is not a sign of collaborationism. Physicians have no other choice. Therefore, salaries from the Russian occupiers are not cooperation, it's just survival until our Armed Forces come and liberate the territory. The main thing is not to recognize the occupier as the "Host"
