As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out on the ship, and now it is gradually sinking.
The occupiers fired on a ship flying the flag of the Dominican Republic near one of the berths in Mariupol. A civilian ship is sinking in the port due to a hole. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
“At night, during another shelling from the sea of long-suffering Mariupol, the enemy hit a civilian ship under the flag of the Dominican Republic, which was located near one of the berths"
– the message reads.
The collision caused a fire in the engine room, one crew member was injured. The captain on the International Maritime Safety Channel gave an SOS signal and the message:
“Attention! Attention! The ship under the flag of the Dominican Republic was brutally destroyed, everything was destroyed, the bridge was destroyed. There was a fire in the car. There are wounded."
The ship began to sink due to the hole, a fire broke out.
Ukrainian naval border guards promptly assisted the wounded and evacuated the crew to safety.
The ship is on fire, the ship is gradually going under water, it is impossible to conduct a rescue operation under constant fire.
