“During the last three days, four children were hospitalized, three of them are immigrants from Mariupol. They left their hometown and joined a humanitarian convoy that was fired upon by enemy soldiers. The children received severe gunshot wounds. Another girl from Polohy lost her leg. The city is now under occupation, it was shelled and the child received a gunshot wound with amputation “, – said the director of the Zaporizhia Regional Children’s Hospital Yuri Borzenko.
Doctors provide assistance to children around the clock, relatives of victims of communication with the media refuse, doctors talk about victims with tears in their eyes.
According to Borzenko, all doctors and nurses remained in the city. Physicians work day and night. Moreover, there is communication with experts from other medical institutions.
Currently, all four children have been operated on. Their condition is assessed by doctors as severe but stable. The 6-year-old boy, who was first hospitalized, is in the surgery department with his father. The man refuses to talk to the media. According to doctors, when the child was brought to the hospital, the boy said: “I saw my mother burning in the car."
“It's very difficult for the boy. Today he begged his father “to buy him a new mother, a good mother who will take him to school", – Borzenko quotes the child.
There were tears in the man's eyes at that moment. He does not hide that it is very difficult when you see these children. The doctor also says that a 15-year-old girl with an amputated leg was brought from Polog to Zaporizhia. When she was taken out of the occupied city, doctors said it was difficult, but it was necessary to work.
