Last week, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 780 dated 12.07.22 “On Amendments to the Procedure for Reimbursement of Medicinal Products." This document changes the procedure for reimbursement of medicines established at the beginning of the war.
The resolution states that starting July 15, 2022, the surcharge for some insulin drugs issued by electronic prescription will be renewed. The level of surcharge remains at the pre-war level and is 15% of the retail price of the drug
Due to the fact that it is now necessary to use public funds and resources as rationally as possible to guarantee equal access to medical services and medicines for all patients, we return a small surcharge for insulins. However, 47 more drugs remain completely free of charge. Patients will be able to get all these medicines by electronic or paper prescriptions (if the doctor does not have access to the Electronic Health Care System)
In this way, the state continues to provide people with diabetes with free access to basic insulin treatment. And those insulin-dependent patients who want to receive insulin of a different type or type have the opportunity to purchase it with a huge discount of -85%.
It should be noted that at the beginning of the full-scale war, the Government canceled the surcharge on all insulins. This made it possible to support patients in difficult times. In three months, they received almost 500,000 electronic prescriptions worth almost UAH 400,000. Now, when the situation has more or less stabilized, the surcharge has been returned.
